Chaotic signal, generated from a deterministic system, is a kind of noise-like signal. It has good correlation and autocorrelation characteristics. As radar signals, wideband chaotic radar has unambiguous correlaion profile, good anti-jamming performance, very-hight-range resolution, low probability of interception, and strong properties of ECCM. However, the application of wideband chaotic electrical signal is limited due to the difficulty of its generating and correlation processing. By introducing optical injection, optical feedback or optoelectronic feedback, the semiconductor lasers can generate chaotic laser with bandwidths of 30GHz easily. And broader application prospects in the field of radar system will be opened up.Focusing on chaotic lidar system using semiconductor laser with optical feedback, this thesis is mainly summarized as follows:1. Emitting optical systems of chaotic lidar system have been designed. Further studies have been made in the principle, structure, equation, reflected characteristic, background radialization and atmosphere attenuation. Based on the studies, collimating and expanding beam of light from semiconductor lasers is designed, simulated and studied experimentally.2. Receiving systems of chaotic lidar system have been designed. Based on the receiving system,further reserches have been made as follows:optimized Signal-to-Noise is researched; optimized detector is selected, made and surveyed; optimized receiving field angle and energy is simulated, discussed,and studied experimentally.3. The chaotic correlation lidar prototype has been developed.After discussing wastages of chaotic lidar and estimating maximum measuring distance, performance and parameters of chaotic lidar are investigated experimentally, such as real-time-measure at close quarters, range-finding of multi-objects, anti-jamming performance, maximum measuring distance, distance resolution.
