In order to satisfy mobile communication demand in future, international organization for standardization 3GPP initiated Long Term Evolution(LTE) technology standardization work. Virtual MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology is used in LTE uplink to increase capacity of the system, and then the use of MIMO detection algorithms at the receiver separating different users is a necessity. So MIMO detection algorithms for LTE uplink are researched in this thesis.Based on analyzing MIMO detection algorithms such as zero forcing(ZF) and minimum mean square error(MMSE), the thesis designs one MIMO detection algorithm called SIC(Successive Interference Cancellation) according to the features of LTE uplink. The thesis also proposes OSIC (Ordered SIC) detection algorithm improved upon SIC. The algorithm cancels the detected signals from the received ones, inhibits propagation of errors and decreases system BER. Through Matlab simulation, the BER performances of all detection algorithms above are analyzed and compared. The simulation results also demonstrate that the improved detection algorithm OSIC has better BER performance than others.
