Research For LXI Instrument Driver Using In IVI-COM Component Implementation Method

LXI (LAN-based eXtensions For Instrumentation) instrument technology is an application and extension of Ethernet technology in test automation areas. Its purpose is to apply the mature Ethernet technology to automatic test system. Instrument drivers are an important component in modern automated test systems. They perform the communication and control of the instrument hardware in the system, as well as providing a high-level and easy-to-use programming model that turns complex instrument measurement capabilities into simple software function calls.This dissertation has analyzed and summarized the IVI-COM(Interchangeable Virtual Instrucment-Component Object Model) components with the LXI instrument drivers department of the specification and the IDL(Interface Description Language file) definition, characteristics, structure, working principle and the way of function calls. The dissertation has also illustrated the LXI instrument drivers as well as studied the working principle and function realization ways. This dissertation does an in-depth research on LXI instrument drivers development steps and development requirements, the methods to IVI session layer, configuration store, the conversation factory of this several important part of the designation and realization on deep, the implementation of digital multimeter on general method, it designed and completed a new digital multimeter IVI-COM instrument drivers. Finally, the digital multimeter IVI-COM instrument drivers has been tested, and offer the SCPI(Standard Commands for Programmable Instrument) commands analysis.This paper presented the specific work of this module, and put forward the plan and assumption of the work and the finished part worthy of improving.
