With the rapid development of communication network technology, Internet gained its popularity at the same time has been extended to the field of space, and gradually spreading to deep space.Constructing Interplanetary Internet has been put on the agenda, and become a trend in network development. The space environment in general offers a number of impediments to reliable communications, such as long propagation delay, high BER, asymmetric channel, intermittent connections etc.Internet reliable transport protocols for terrestrial network such as TCP has poor performance in the space environment. It cause the decrease of communication quality, and the waste of precious space link resources. How to propose an applicable reliable transport protocol in the space communication will become a research hotspot. In this article, we discuss the core mechanism for TCP in depth, analysis the TCP protocol used in traditional terrestrial networks and its augmented version. But there are still deficiency for space communications. On this basis,a variety of protocols have been proposed for reliable data transport in space Internet, some of these are TCP modifications and some are new reliable solutions. The survey includes the following contents:Classification of these protocols roughly into different approaches; Discussions and comments on the design and operation methods of the protocols;Comparisons and comments on the main techniques and performances of the protocols. For its different properties, select some typical protocols and some space applications scenarios compares in the OPNET simulation. Results show that these improved protocols can get a better performance in space environment.
