The application of NLU technology in the process of products design is one of the most important and difficult application of A.I.technology.This paper studies the ontology-based conceptual distinction of NLU and applies it in the requirements analysis of artificial intelligence instrument.Through analyzing and understanding the clients requirements which are expressed in the form of natural language, we transform the results into the design requirements ,thus obtain good effects.A lot of relevant documentations are reviewed and then the main elements of concept distinctions and difficulties are determined.After introducing several theories and methods of NLU knowledge expression ,a new knowledge representation method is given, which bases on ontology and concept dependency theory and uses the framework structure as its forms and reflects the relationship between the concepts.Then the paper studies the relationship between concept ontology,concept symbol and concept object in linguistic phenomena.Based on the analysis of a large corpus, the method of concept ontology distinction and the one of concept object distinction are introduced in details and achieved in a NLU system. At last, the concept distinction is applied in the requirements analysis of artificial intelligence instrument expert system which has man-machine interface. Meanwhile, an illustration of the concept distinction in the application of intelligent instrument design is made.
