Research Of Data Security In EPON

EPON is a combination of Ethernet and passive optical network, with high bandwidth and low cost and good compatibility, easy extension etc make the EPON is one of the important means access. The structure of EPON is a point to multi-point. Its Uplink transmission fom OLT to ONU, belongs time-division multiplexing, and its Downlink transmission from ONU to OLT, belongs broadcast. From the structure of the network EOPN, uplink channel is safety, but Downlink channels exists "Eavesdropping" and "theft". To solveing the data transmission safety problems in EPON downlink channel has become the focus of this study.This article first introduced the EPON technology, Includes agreement layered structure, the basic structure, working principle, multipoint control protocol and the technology of Logical topology simulation. According to the need, we also made a simple introduction to other key technologies. Then we had a comprehensive analysis of the security risks that exist in EPON and designed a set of effective encryption scheme.The design on the encryption scheme, the paper gave a detailed introduction form the choice of encryption algorithm, encryption process and the key management. In the choice of encryption algorithm, articles chosen symmetric and asymmetric cryptography cryptography two most representative encryption algorithm: AES encryption algorithm and ECC encryption algorithm. AES algorithm used to encrypt the downlink data in the encryption process. The ECC algorithm used for encryption of AES keys before AES encryption, this method is an effective solution to the encryption process in the presence of key security issues. Because the packet length is only 128 bit in encryption process, greater than 128 bits of information and news article also gives the solution (the design of block encryption scheme). Block encrypt combining counter mode in block cipher, this method effectively solves the problem of long encrypted information.
