Batch reaction is an important chemical procedure in industry, polymerization reaction is one of the most common chemical reaction processes, batch polymerization product method is widely used in batch or semi-batch process industry. In order to ensure the quality, production and the production safety, many batch polymerization processes use advanced control strategy based on model to control the temperature of the process, so the study of polymerization temperature model is very important.This paper analysed the batch reactor control system in the laboratory, studied the heating and cooling circuit of the control system. According to the characteristics of batch polymerization and the system of the laboratory provided the laboratory control scheme. The conventional PID control strategy can satisfy the requirements of jacket temperature. But it is difficult to control inside temperature of the reactor using the conventional PID, because the characteristics of serious time-delay, non-linear and time-varying. In order to tracking the temperature of production require in the reactor better, advanced control strategy is needed, and model is the basic of advanced control.At present the popular methods of establishing model are mechanism modeling and experimental modeling, this paper established mechanism model of temperature inside the reactor. Because polymerization process is complicated, so, it is necessary to correct the mechanism model online. Therefore, this paper used first-order plus dead-time process model instead of the mechanism model, then, proposed a strategy to correct the first-order plus dead-time process model by using online parameters identification. Finally, according to the powerful data processing ability of MATLAB and excellent interface configuration function of WinCC, a real-time communication realization scheme between MATLAB and WinCC based on OPC technology is proposed. The result of experimental shown that the proposed temperature model and model correct strategy can follow the object changes effectively. So, it is a foundation to realize advanced control technologies on the polymerization processes.
