With the development of Radar technology, Radar system has been more diversiform and complicated, which make ECM face much more complex electromagnetic environment. The sorting of Radar signal is a very important part of electronic countermeasures. Only the correct recognition of the type of the target radar, can we disturb the target radar effectively. With the development of modern electronic technology, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is more and more popular with electronic designer. Also, the performance of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) has improved. This paper presents a radar signal sorting circuitry using DSP and FPGA. A SDIF as a sorting method is applied on the hardware platform.First of all, the article introduces the radar signal processing simply. Secondly the article focuses on the main algorithms of radar signal sorting at present. Some of them are compared. Based on the advantages and disadvantages of some algorithms of radar signal sorting, the SDIF is chosen as the algorithm of the design. Based on the hardware and algorithm realization, at last the whole design is given. The contributions of this thesis are shown as following.1. A radar signal sorting hardware platform is designed, including system power supply, DSP, FPGA, dual-port RAM, the external memory, configuration circuit and external peripheral circuit design.2. Write VHDL program. With this program, the FPGA can fulfill the corresponding logic circuit. In the sample time, the FPGA measures the pulse width, arrival time. The work of the pre-sorting is completed as well at the same time.3. Write the sorting algorithm program. The data which pre-processing by FPGA is sent into the dual-port RAM, DSP reads the data from dual-port RAM, then processes the data using the sorting algorithm. After these, the radar signal sorting work is accomplished.It shows that this signal sorting processing circuit board can sorting several different radar signals. It has strong ability of sorting.
