Based on the theory of constructivist in news professionalism, the current thesis conducts its study by adopting the content analysis method. Reports concerning China in the financial crisis around the three summit conferences in two Chinese newspapers, China Daily and China Business News, and two American newspapers, New York Times and Wall Street Journal, are chosen as the study samples. Data collected from quantitative analysis are explored qualitatively to present a whole picture of constructing Chinese roles in the financial crisis by the newspapers in two countries. The paper finds that although the newspapers are different in the reporting forms, contents, topics and inclinations, they are both optimistic in Chinese economy and bear a supportive attitude towards the China's role in the world economy and both helped in constructing a positive economic role of China in the financial crisis.Differences on China's roles in the financial crisis constructed by four newspapers from two countries existed in term of three summit conferences, however, they are turning more and more positive, which is in support of the acknowledgement of China's role as a big economic country in the world.
