In modern society, traffic accidents increased year by year due to various uncertainties. therefore the number of people with leg disabilities increased. Meanwhile, the Chinese society has entered the aging society; many of the old people have to live by wheelchair because the physiological function of legs has declined. But they still need to live like a normal person, so developing a wheelchair meet their physical and mental need become one of the priorities of social's concern. Though ordinary wheelchair gave them help on some extent, but they still live by the help of other people. Actually the wheelchair diminishes responsibility of the people who take care of them. Today barrier-free facilities have not popularized, so finding a wheelchair which can help the people can't walk by themselves to walk freely become a hot research projects. There propose a new idea of a wheelchair which can help people have leg disability can walk uprightly and do simulation using MATLAB. Firstly, use camera to do motion capture of the body movement of lower limbs. Then analyze it by MATLAB to find out the law of the movement and using it to drive the 3D model of lower extremity. The simulation is the foundation of the institutional research for the future. The papers main contain these work listed below.1) It introduces the Virtual Reality Toolbox in MATLAB, and gives a detailed description of V-Realm Builder2.0. It also uses the 3D software to establish a 3D simulation model of human lower limb.2) Firstly, in the simulation we create a interactive GUI interface, then captures the movement of human lower limb with the camera, and at the last records and stores data when acquisition image is started.3) The papers also describes the MATLAB Image Acquisition Toolbox, specifically explains the methods to create the video input object, and the collection, storage of video data in detail, then gives practical examples.4) Simulink is the connection of the 3D simulation model of human lower limb and GUI which is a man-machine interface. By setting the relevant parameters and establishing a suitable mathematical model we can complete the virtual reality simulation of human lower limb.Finally, concluding the main content of this paper. The future direction of studying is indicated as well.
