Power control is the third generation mobile communication systems one of the key technologies. System uses power control technology can effectively reduce the "corner effect " and the "distance effect ", reduce mutual interference between users, increase system capacity, improve the communication quality. Power control goal is to quickly adjust the size of transmitting power to suit the mobile environment, so that the system is in the best run state and has the best system capacity. CDMA system using code division multiple access, CDMA multiple access technology has other advantages incomparable, electromagnetic radiation such as its small, high spectrum efficiency, voice quality, anti-multipath, interference, soft handover, macro diversity, large capacity, wide coverage and easy user access, therefore, the third generation mobile communication code division multiple access methods are used almost. This article studies the CDMA2000 system power control technology.This article first basic principle of power control technology, current research and analysis of influencing factors were discussed. Then on the basis of a fixed step power control algorithm and adaptive step power control algorithm, simulation results show the system uses adaptive step power control algorithm to obtain better performance and capacity.Through the centralized and distributed power control algorithm based on the principle of analysis, focus on distributed power control algorithm is studied, analysis of several existing typical distributed power control algorithm, pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of their algorithm. By combining the DPA algorithm and FDPC algorithm, a new distributed power control algorithm, after the algorithm simulation show that the improved algorithm in the number of iterations has been greatly improved, finally, a summary of the research and prospects.
