Design And Implementation Of Textbooks Management System Based On Heterogeneous Data

Textbooks management system is the important section in the teaching management. which impacts on teaching quality and talents training directly. Similar to most universities in China. the textbooks management in Hebei University of Science and Technology is still in the stage of manual and single machine management, therefore, it raises some problems, such as errors in data processing, inconvenientness in information query, low-efficiency and data heterogeneousness in different functional departments. So. how to use the existing heterogeneous data, and rebuild or set up the new textbooks management system is the urgent problem in the informatization construction of university.According to the existing textbooks management system in Hebei University of Science and Technology, this thesis analyzes the problems in the textbooks management system in our university objectively. And then. based on on the educational system management database, heterogeneous data and XML component technology. I design the software programme (BUSHU) of textbooks management system for Hebei University of Technology and Science.The thesis mainly includes:1) Analyze the present situation and urgent unsolved problems in textbook management in this unviserty. Investigate the characteristic in the textbooks management and composite teaching inforamtion in our university. Based on the requirements of textbooks management, design a new teaching management system.2) Integrate the composite data of teaching system in our university, achieve the accessing. conversion and synchronization of different databases of textbook management and composite teaching system by the synchro data of heterogeneous database through XML technology. Based on the administration authority and function for different users and requirements. design and build the management system logically.3) Achieve the integration of textbooks management system with teaching management system and the seamless connection between databases. Based on some information, such as the teaching plan. course schedules and roll information, the textbooks management system will provide basis for selecting the type and quantity of textbooks.Using SQL programming language and detabases. the system sets up three subsystems (sub-system of textbooks order. sub-system of textbooks management, sub-system of systematical textbooks management). and builds four modules (module of teachers'ordering textbooks. module of students' selecting textbooks. module of textbooks' planning and compiling, and module of in-out storage). And the software solves some problems, such as the separation among teachers, students and textbooks orders, and reduces the burden of textbooks management staff.This system implements modern textbooks management, and facilitates the order and management of textbooks for working staff. After a period of time of testing and running, the system is proved to have achieved its designing purposes.
