Internet of Things, which bases on RFID and EPC technology, has become a research focus. However, the traditional EPC network cannot be effectively compatible with traditional barcode data. It's also difficult to connect various types of reading devices in unified way. As a subsidiary of GS1 Global Standard Organization, EPCGlobal develops a series of interface standards at all levels, and how to implement this interfaces using middleware technology is also worthy of study.The paper researches the extensibility of data collection for this middleware. For the purpose of effectively compatible of traditional barcode data in EPC network, presents a new kind of encoding and decoding scheme GTIN-58. Extents the key points of EPC network data structure to aim to enrich the event reports. Using plug-in architecture, presents Device and Subscriber to be compatible with varies devices. Strictly abides by the ALE specification, finishes the design and code programming of data collection middleware. Finishes the implementation of ALE 1.1.1, which is backward compatible with ALE 1.1, finishes the implementation of ALE logical reader interface, provides web services of them. The data collection middleware enables the ability of effectively management of event cycle specifications, logical reader specifications, and logs the system running conditions and user behaviors on the calling of ALE interfaces. Provides web administration console which is user-friendly, monitoring the running conditions, allowing end users or system integrators to define, modify, un-define of event cycle specifications and their subscribers, logical reader specifications in convenient ways.The paper builds a data collection middleware that unifies the traditional barcode data GTIN and EPC data flowing is the EPC network. Plug-in mechanism facilitates the adaptation of different types of reading devices. This middleware promotes internet of things technology which based on EPC in application and research of our country great significantly.
