Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) technology is the application of image processing methods and electronic technology to get inter-frame offset directly and compensate current frames. EIS is the research hotspot in image processing, computer vision and other areas. EIS system is widely used in military and civilian areas because of its small size, low power and high precision.In this paper, our emphasis is the key technology of electronic image stabilization and we proposed fast compensation algorithm based on adaptive motion filter. Firstly, we introduce the development of image stabilization and electronic image stabilization technology, basic principle and mathematical model of electronic image stabilization. Then motion estimation approach is discussed, and we have focused on feature matching based motion estimation methods. Finally, we proposed fast motion compensation algorithm based on adaptive filter to solve the problems of how to extract scanning motion vector from global motion vector and compensate the current frame quickly. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed algorithm can stabilize the inter-frame jitter and track the real scene effectively.
