Planes and ships are the interested targets to be detected by the high-frequency radar. Since the characteristics and the detection background of the targets are different, the methods for detecting planes and ships are also different. The ship should be detected with long coherent internet time due to its low speed. However, the plane can be detected with short coherent internet time because of its high speed. A way of detecting airplanes and ships simultaneously is proposed in the thesis. The main idea of the method is that planes and ships are detected by different frequency modulation signals. Then the target echo signals are processed by different matched filter to obtain the echo signal of planes and ships, respectively. The full signal of planes can be obtained when the gapped signal of planes is processed by GAPES algorithm. After that, the detection of planes can be achieved by traditional spectrum estimation method. Meanwhile, the detection of ships can be achieved by high resolution spectrum estimation method with short integration time. The available methods cannot detect planes and ships simultaneously, but the method proposed in this paper can do it easily.
