With the development of computer and network technology, network aided teaching have become a powerful tool to improve teaching methods. But at present, the network aided teaching in our country has some problem, which the teaching materials simply shown in web form, the teaching system is lack of interactive features, the content of web form based on HTML is lack of description function. Web sites are lack of standard criterion wholly, which make it hard to share resources. Otherwise, the system capacity maybe small, system stable maybe not enough, system compatibility maybe poor because of insufficient investment.So, the paper explains design and implementation of network aided teaching system. The paper put forward the idea of making use of XML markup language to describe and operate courseware based on the research on standardization of the web-based educational information. At the same time, the paper analyses system requirements, design the system and its database, implement system function such as making courseware, teaching management, online study and test and so on, elaborate application of some difficult problem and key technology, including management of courseware dynamically based on XML, the application of the algorithm of generating test paper automatically and effectively, the application of database connection pool technology in multi-user database access and so on.This paper is to develop a network aided-teaching system, which sets up effectively a teacher-student and student-student communication environment.
