Weak target detection in sea clutter is always an important problem in detection theory and it is also one of the most complicated problems in radar signal processing.Seaclutter exhibits strong nonstationarity along time and range cells, which interferes gravely target detection, especially low-velocity small targets.Low-velocity small target detection has important applications in military affairs and maritime rescue and it is always a hot-point problem in radar signal processing. This paper introduced these issues of sea clutter features with real data, and discussed a method of target detection in sea clutter based on Radon Tranform. Non-coherent integration of Radon Transform is applied to range-time images of real sea clutter data. The result shows that it realized the detection of small-target in sea clutter and the performance is good. This paper introduced the formation mechanism of sea clutter firstly, and addressed the importance of target detection in sea clutter.Secondly,it states the traditional MTI and MTD,and they has been applied to target detection in sea clutter, the result has been analyzed. On this basis,a kind of target detection method based on the application of Radon Transform is proposed. This method is tested with real sea clutter. The experiment reached the prospective intent and established foundation for the further study.
