| Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) is a focus of research and application in the field of transportation. It's a real-time, accurate and efficient integrated transport and management system based on the integration of multi-disciplinary technology, such as computer technology, image processing, and artificial intelligence. This system has obvious advantages in information processing and great potential for future development. Based on the research at home and abroad, the thesis uses image processing technology to build the traffic lights control system in modern urban traffic on the basis of the video-based detection.In the video detection part, the thesis first introduced the video detection algorithms commonly used. Then, according to the actual use of the environment especially the problem of shadow in urban traffic, the thesis built the model of shadow and optimized the algorithm based on adaptive background updating, which enhanced the accuracy of video detection and provided more effective parameters for control system. In the control system part, the thesis introduced the conception of traffic flow and key performance indicators, built the link between the world coordinate system and image coordinate system, and used a fuzzy controller to control the traffic lights.At last, the thesis designed an intelligent transportation control system based on video detection. For the hardware, the thesis used CCD camera as a video capture system and SAA7111 as an image analysis processor. The thesis discussed the various hardware components function. For the software, the thesis used Visual C++and OpenCV programming to realize the video image preprocessing, vehicles'number detection, and intelligent control of traffic lights. |
