The Research Of Part Extracting From BOM Based On Pro/E And Product BOM Data Mangement

With the development of information technology, informationization has become the core to improve product competition in modern manufacturing enterprises. Product Data Management (PDM) and Enterprise Resource Plan (ERP) are two significant fields of advanced manufacturing technology. The BOM is the data basis of information-integrated to carry out the manufacturing informationization, and it is the link to integrate information of ERP/PDM softwares. As the core fundamental data, The BOM can offer the correct, completed and coincident data sources, which is important to research system-integrated. To research manufacturing system BOM data automation and system data management is significant to improve enterprises'information robustness, stability and accuracy.Based on foreign and domestic BOM development methods, with practical projects in Kunming Strength Heavy Industry, this paper discusses some ideas on data storing technology. combining with WEB and WEB server technologies, this paper presents a typical ASP oriented design method and idea of product BOM management system. The main workings are given as follows:1. Foreign and domestic BOM situations and current study states are discussed. The paper points out the importance and characteristics of BOM in enterprises informatization and analyzes information problems of Kunming Strength Heavy Industry, which apply some preparation for development of BOM system.2. Based on the special requirements, the paper offers material BOM standard format files of Kunming Strength Heavy Industry, and sets standard data table according to Pro/E internal data format to uniform the enterprise's table format.3. The paper introduces the basic theory of BOM, the relationships of BOM views and definition of XBOM. Data structure of BOM is studied and the related data structure is designed.4. The information extraction model is designed, which can recognize the different material information of products in Pro/E models, and store the information from BOM extraction to the enterprise's database accordingly.5. The development process of the whole system and methods used are introduced, and the main subsystems' development and realization are introduced in detail, then the work of the development is summarized and the limitations are indicated.The paper utilizes Pro/REPORT module to extract BOM data automatically, and uses SQL server 2005 database technologies to save data automatically and uses WEB technology and ASP technology in Dreamweaver MX8.0 development environment to develop products BOM data system. The feasibility and the validity of BOM system have been verified in the rolling mill department of Kunming Strength Heavy Industry.
