Site Search Engine Design And Development Based On Lucene

On the basis of the history and classification of search engine as well as the principle of search engine, the article describes the work flow of search engine and anatomizes its components in details. Site search engine is compared to universal search engine in their characteristics and implement theories to show its advantages. The paper also makes contrast between site full-text search and relational database search, and makes a conclusion that full-text search engine is the best choice to implement site full-text search. Lucene is a full-text search engine software package that has good architecture and is suitable to make secondary development. This software is presented detailedly in this paper including data structure, core techniques and ways of secondary development. The article depicts the design procedure of site search engine of SHECTT.SGST.CN, which includes the development flow and the solution process of key problems, such as format preprocess, database full-text index establishment, Chinese word parsing, appointed field search, results sorted by specific field, all with particular descriptions. Finally the further development direction of the functions enhancement of this site search engine are proposed such as customized word parse dictionary, versatile query manners, intelligentizing.
