The paper mainly focused on development and application of virtual reality system, the paper analyzed the structure of a complete virtual reality system. That is a VR system should contain three parts-, geometric modules, scene modules and functional modules. Studying the computer graphics technology and introduced it into the virtual environment. In addition, the paper successful introduces the texture mapping and tree scene modeling technology into the virtual environment modeling and solid geometry modeling. The system creates a realistic virtual environment while controls the taking resources at a lower Level. What's more, taking the training and examination system of virtual elevator as an example. The paper focuses on creating of the functional modules in the virtual system. Depending on the assessment requirements, the paper establishes two different kinds of elevator model in virtual systems are created the mathematical models. Using Virtools software, the system associated the mathematical model with the two types of elevator. In addition, the article established the evaluation system and score management system. This project realized elevator technology assessment virtualization successfully.Finally, the paper proposed an object-oriented virtual reality system interface technology. Analyzing the advantages and application development process of the interface technology. Using Virtools VSL and SDK as the tools compile some high flexibility and versatility interface programs. One of them is 6R robot kinematics interface program. This interface program can solve the direct and inverse kinematics of 6R robot in virtue environment and realized the behavior interaction successfully. In addition, the paper uses object-oriented technology, the developed two types of virtual reality systems communication interfaces, including serial interfaces, and motion control card control interface. The successful development of these two types of interface has a strong versatility and flexibility which connected the virtue world and real world. Expand the scope of application of virtual systems.
