Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology is a multi-carrier transmission technique, because it has strong anti-jamming and anti-fading properties, so by the widespread concern. OFDM technology has been widely used in the current IEEE802.11a, HiperLAN/2 and MMAC such as wireless local area network (WLAN) standards, digital audio broadcasting (DAB), Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) and other systems. This paper mainly OFDM synchronization technology research, analysis of past synchronization algorithm, and simulation of OFDM communications of the program. This paper outlines the development of OFDM and background, as well as its advantages and disadvantages and the key technology, then introduces the basic principles of OFDM systems, followed by synchronization of OFDM has been studied to symbol synchronization, carrier synchronization and sampling clock synchronization were analysis, but also analyzes the timing and frequency offset the impact on the OFDM. Re-analysis of the OFDM synchronization algorithm, respectively Moose algorithm, Schmidl & Gox [1] algorithm, Minn algorithm are described, analyzed and compared three algorithms, the timing obtained Minn algorithm is better than Moose algorithm and the SC algorithm, the same simulation conditions, it can achieve lower error mean and mean square error. And on this basis concluded and an improved algorithm in AWGN channel and multipath fading channel to improve the frequency estimation method in terms of mean square error is relatively small. Finally, the OFDM system, the entire communication process of the program simulation, and validation analysis concluded that the synchronization of the OFDM communication is very important, otherwise prone to error at the receiving end.
