The wireless Ad hoc network is also called multi-hop network, network without fixed infrastructure or self-organizing network, it is formed by a group of autonomous wireless nodes or mobile terminals through mutual cooperation, it is independent of fixed infrastructure support, and is a self-created, self-organizing and self-management dynamic networks. Though Ad hoc network technology is born in the military field, it has rapid development in the field of mobile communication. Therefore, the wireless Ad hoc network security has also been concerned widely, and has become key issues of affecting its application and development.Cryptology theory and technology mainly depends on the security of the used key management scheme. The constraints of distributed characteristics, bandwidth, node computation and storage capacity in wireless Ad hoc network increase the difficulties of key management, Therefore, the traditional centralized CA key management scheme is not suitable for the existing mobile Ad hoc networks. So it is critical to find a new key management scheme which can meet the feature of Ad hoc networks, and can also achieve the functions of traditional key management for the further development of Ad hoc networks. My paper firstly introduces the basic concept, structure and characteristics of wireless Ad hoc network as well as the security threats faced by wireless Ad hoc network, and briefly discusses several common key management schemes, on that basis, puts forward a safer and efficient improved key management scheme. Specifically expressed in the follows:First, analyzes the problems of system establishment, certificate distribution and certificate revocation mechanism, communication information content and system security in the existing distributed key management scheme , and proposes a improved certificate revocation algorithm, modifies the number and broadcasting scope of charging nodes through increasing the "suspicion factorα" and "Radio Factorγ" to reduce the communication information content and meet the requirements of security.Second, proposes a new Ad hoc group key management scheme through combining Id-based cryptosystem and bilinear pairings, the security of the scheme is based on the difficult problems of discrete logarithm in bilinear groups, using group key management mechanism to generate, distribute and update the group key through joint consultation. At last, discusses the security of the scheme and performance comparison analysis, proves that it can provide higher security, and ensures better efficiency and communication overhead.
