With the developing of the spatial database technology, it also gradually increased on the part of the applications, the research on Spatial Reasoning is the key in this part. Spatial reasoning has been concerned in many areas, the research on Spatial Reasoning is the key in this part. Spatial reasoning has been concerned in many areas, and then the areas mentioned include: Geographic information systems, artificial intelligence, database and multimedia etc. At present, some useful spatial reasoning has been thoroughly studied, for example: topological relations, direction relations, and the distance relations. In the process of research in spatial reasoning it is very important in the direction of the relationship between the objects, which has aroused more and more attention. Therefore the synthesis of direction relations and the reasoning of inverse direction relation had been the focus on two dimensional regions,these two issues will be discussed in this article.The plarform is very important in the study of the relationship between spatial orientation, which is reasonable and accurate.Therefore, the direction of the relationship spatial models are introduced and contrast in this paper. The new model had been presented in this paper, that is Direction Relationship Matrix model, which is applied in this paper between the object representation model.Because in the two-dimensional space, the reference objects and the object which we need to study is irregular, therefore objects were figured similarly as MBR(Minimum Bouding Box) in this paper. And also direction relationship matrix model had been used for describing the relationship between objects. First, it gave definitions and theorems according to the basic of direction relationship matrix as the real situation in the paper; and then there were three situations given in the synthesis according to the computing the correlation matrix,which are between the atomic direction relations, between the atomic direction relations and the basic direction relations, between the basic direction relations. Finally, three kinds of solution method has been validated to prove the correctness of them.The research of inverse direction relation was just beginning in recent years. It is of great significance in the full-scale exposition of the relationship between spatial location of the object. The calculation methods of the inverse direction relation were summarized In this paper.The new method of calculating was proposed based on existing models of matrix,which be verified by linking theory and practice,Finally one example had been used for explaining the process that calculating the inverse direction relation.The study above of synthesis of direction relations and the research on reasoning of inverse direction relation on two dimensional regions increase new methods of spatial reasoning and spatial network consistency checking, it will lay the foundation in the research on space direction relationship in the future.
