The purpose of pipeline corrosion detection system is collecting, analyzing, and processing a variety of data from pipeline corrosion, finding the reason of pipeline corrosion. At present, the corrosion data is processed mainly relies on traditional methods in this field. A large number of corrosion data are not being used effectively; the data mining techniques are introduced in this paper, with this technology, corrosion data are analyzed and processed.In this paper, the ID3 algorithm in data mining technology is studied in detail, its theory and application are analyzed. The larger values of the properties are easier to choose with ID3 algorithms, and there are differences between these properties and the optimal properties, so there is a certain limitation in this algorithm. For this situation, the ID3 algorithm is improved, the weights of the attribute with more value are change, the information entropy of important properties is strengthened, the information entropy of non-essential properties is reduced, and dependence of attribute with more value of the decision tree is reduced.The improved ID3 algorithm is applied on pipeline corrosion detection system, corrosion data is analyzed, and the decision tree is generated, the rules are extracted the extent of pipeline corrosion is determined, the inherent relation of the collected corrosion data is analyzed, the reason of corrosion is found out, the advice is proposed. Accurate corrosion information of the diagnosis and analysis is released to the anti-corrosion decision-makers, helping them to detect pipeline corrosion as early as possible; so the measures of anti-corrosion are proposed.
