Biometrics exploit physical features in human body(such as fingerprint,palmprint,iris,face ,etc) or behavioral features(such as voice,signature,gait, etc) to identify a person. Biometrics develop fast both in extent and depth,and it will eventually become a public identification technology .Due to the uniqueness and invariability of fingerprint,the fingerprint recognition is more attractive compared with traditional methods such as Passwords .As practical fingerprint recognition technology is become the most popular technology of which the research institutes of home and abroad made a study.At present, the fingerprint identification systems are based on the platform of PC computer and development environment ,leading to high cost ,large size and inconvenient ,at the same time ,limiting the development of the image of fingerprint identification .Therefore developing high recognition rate ,low rejection rate ,fast processing ,small size fingerprint is a new research direction and has great market potential .In this background ,embedding fingerprint identification system comes into being .however the fingerprint image algorithm is not perfect ,as well as the embedded system is difficult and the current fingerprint identification equipment is not mature.This paper first analyses and discusses the demands of the task,proposes a pre-processing system for fingerprint images adapting to embedded system in allusion to the embedded developing platform of ARM9,A set of fingerprint recognition pretreatment algorithms mainly including fingerprint gamma controller normalization and equalizing , fingerprint image division and refinement was established.Based on Which we choose the embedded development board with ARM microprocessor as the Primary hardware platform, then extend which with necessary auxiliary equipments,and achieve the Prototype system of biometric collection and identification .The paper introduces the hardware circuit and the software implementation of the fingerprint acquisition system based on the low power loss microprocessor S3C2410 and the low-power loss fingerprint sensor MBF200,and discusses emphasis on the parameters set of MBF200s registersPrimary trials are performed and show that the system runs normally and steadily,and reaches the design requirements of performance of speed .We can change system Parameters to adjust False rejection rate(FRR) and False Acceptance rate(FAR) to adapt to different environment. In addition, the system satisfies the need of mobility and real-time processing, and reaches the preliminary design goal. It is valuable to people who are developing the fingerprint recognition system in other fields.
