Realizing transparently entire optical communication network with highly survivability is the goal which the wideband communication network will develop in the future. As an in important support technology of entire optical network system, the optical switching technology is playing a very vital role in the all optical communication network. As a kind of optical switching technology, optical burst switching is quite advanced. It obtains people's value more and more because of its bright superiority. It synthesized the merit of optical packet switching and optical circuit switching. And it becomes an ideal plan to realize modern all optical network communication. But because of optical components performance'unreal and the structures'difference, in the data transmission process, it will have each kind of different crosstalk. And then the output signal will be different from the actual value. The crosstalk will reduce the signal the quality and it will possibly cause the corresponding unable to carry on. In order to guarantee the quality of the output of the optical signal and to cause the optical burst switching apply into actual, it is necessary to study the crosstalk in its core nodes.Crosstalk characteristic of the OBS optical network is studied in this paper. The statement and the principle of the optical burst switching are outlined. The technical characteristic compared by optical packet switching and optical circuit switching is pointed. The crosstalk originates of the optical network and crosstalk classification of different standards and crosstalk assessment method are described. One kind of typical OBS core node structures is given in this paper. And it is pointed that there is various crosstalk in the optical components of the structure. Several kinds of common optical switching matrices are enumerated, and then they are introduced separately.In this paper, several pots are done as following: Firstly, in view of one kind of typical OBS core node structure, we have analyzed the crosstalk in the optical components and made the numerical simulation. The result shows that compared with other optical components optical switching matrix have more serious impact on system. Secondly, we apply the several kinds of optical matrix in the OBS core node. Then make numerical simulation on the crosstalk of the structures based on several different kinds of optical switching matrix. The result shows that compared with other structures, the crosstalk of OBS core node structure based on GIDB optical switching matrix is smaller. Under the same condition, the crosstalk of the structure based on GIDB matrix is lower different decibel value than others. Using the assessment method of Power Penalty, it proves that the crosstalk of the node structures is lower under the best decision threshold.
