Comparative Study On Three Patent Information Retrieval Systems Of Chinese And Foreign

Patent literatures are extremely important sources of scientific information, whether patent application, issues reporting, and the development of new products, handling patent infringement disputes, are inseparable from the patent searching. With the continuous improvement of network technology, patent search systems are emerging, ordinary users want to accurately select the database, rapid, comprehensive, accurate to obtain the patent information needed, they should master the contents of each databases and know the advantages and disadvantages of these databases.The article first introduces the background knowledge of patents and patent search systems and research status of domestic and international, selected three typical comparative samples: foreign patent database service platform (CNIPR), European Patent Retrieval System (esp @ cenet) and the Derwent patent database. then author carried out a detailed comparative analysis and objective evaluation about three retrieval system based on content, search method, search symbols, the auxiliary search function, search fields, search results and personalized information services. summarized the advantages and disadvantages of three retrieval system, for example, Derwent database can provides a great convenience to users by containing normalization data and analyzing search results in many ways, but can not provide all of the original; although esp@cenet and CNIPR is less than Derwent databases in search results and system functions, but they have their own advantages, such as free searching patent legal status and original. Finally, based on the comparative analysis, author put forward the reasonable proposals on how users retrieval patent information effectively; aim at the limitations of the patent search system, optimization scheme of the three patent retrieval system is been proposed to system design and development staff.
