Design And Implementation Of Library Information Management System

With the national emphasis on education increased in recent years, the size and functions of colleges'library are expanding rapidly, the same as the number of books. At the same time, the daily management of the various kinds of information in our library is also multiplied accordingly. Facing such a huge amount of information, the existing library management system is difficult to meet the application requirements due to lack of flexibility and scalability, the incensement in the human and material resources is still lead to confusion on the library management. Thereby affect the entire library operation and control management.The current library management system faces two challenges:(1) With the increment in the number of students, the volume of information access of the library WEB site is also rapidly increasing. The traditional networks can not afford the huge amount of visits, so it's difficult to offer an accurate and fast completion of search and sharing of resources; (2) The needs of library management is ever-changing and increasing, making the WEBsite with a fixed template system difficult to meet the growing requirement. Now we need an architecture which can provide the management-oriented model.Therefore, it is very urgent and important work to develop a reasonable, effective, standardized and practical library management system, using the current advanced network technology, to centralize information on the library management in order to improve efficiency and quality, and achieve large-scale traffic load of books management.In this paper, it analyzes and presents the status and related application technology of university library management information system. In this basis, a library management information system is designed and implemented based on CMS (Content Management System), which solves the problems in practical work. The system has the following characteristics:(1) This system provides comprehensive support to library information management, and providing many important functions such as documentation update, retrieves search and reader management. It can meet the needs of simultaneously access for large-scale users. (2) This system also provides a visual management to achieve the right front-end WEB pages and back-end database; it is convenient for the library management staff without professional computer background to complete the administrative tasks related to library information management.
