The Research Of The Useage Of Libraries' Resource Based On The Long Tail Theory

As nowadays, the chief effect of the libraries have turned to use-based and people-oriented from simple collection, the storage effect is not the only judge standard of the value of libraries, services, which has been the first determinant. Lenin had said that public libraries should not be proud of the number of rare books, but how quickly to meet all the demands of readers. So as Sierra, the American librarian, said that:'make the society to use maximum of the knowledge is the central issue of our time.'This article hopes to analysis the long tail theory in order to investigate the feasibility of this theory in library resource utilization. Then try to use this theory to recycling process. According those to change the situation which declined by law 28, in order to make those idle resources valuable to meet personal needs.This article is devided into five parts. During the introduction part, through presenting the shortage of existing research, introduce the related concepts, innovation, difficulties. The second part tells the libraries'resource long tail and readers'long tail, analysis the contradiction of supply and demand then tells the necessity to solve this contradiction. The third part combine the 3 power of long tail, the traditional libraries'guiding theory of 28 law can't meet the growing demand of resources and readers'needs. Judged that the long tail theory's feasibility in the fourthputting of libraries'resource.The fourth part make use of the long tail theory in the process which are realted of the fourthputting of library resource. Give advises above micro and macro point, such like acquisiton, cataloguing, circling, services, reservation etc. The last part combine the balanced scorecad analysis the process reengineering. Construct targets from economics and applicability, inner work process, user, learning and growing parts, analysis those targets in order to examinate the degree of implementation. The whole paper go through from feasibility to process reengineering to test part, form a compelete system, hope to rise the useage of libraries'resource, balance the contradiction of supply and demand.
