With technological development and raise the level of industrial manufacturing, modern industry, particularly the aerospace, shipbuilding, automobile, oil and natural gas storage and transportation, large-scale machining, turbines, generators and other areas, the need for various types of spare parts or large-scale structure of the external precise three-dimensional measurement of dimensions, that is, the need for the overall large-size workpiece geometry measurements. On the other hand, in the sub-processing of large-scale processing and manufacturing industries, the right edge of this large-size workpiece size of the overall measurement is also important, such as submarines, shipbuilding, tanks, spacecraft and other often used sub-construction, the assembly into a the overall processing methods required to strictly control the combination of the geometric shape of the Ministry of the edge of a full three-dimensional size. From the measurement of a complete theory of the measured object is the accurate measurement of the edge of their three-dimensional measurement, processing, and reconstruction basis. Therefore, the complete access to large-size workpiece detection of edge information technology research in the theory and practical applications have very important significance. Because of this, this paper is aimed at the integrity of large-size workpiece edge detection of this problem, involving edge detection technology and image stitching technology, these two core technologies were studied.First, according to the sampling object, whole structure of 3-D detection system and operation mode of camera is desigened. The experiment platform is put up in the article.Subsquently, edge characteristics of designed steel plate in image is analysised, conclusion the requirements of edge detection of large size workpiece. A novel subpixel edge detection algorithm has been put forward to meet the requirement. The efficiency of the algorithm is proved by experiment. Finally, according to the problem in solving transform matrix H, motion mobel of camera and transform mobel of image in transform is analysised. A novel mosaics algorithm is put forward to solve problem in solving transform matrix H. Meanwhile, a new target is designed to make it more fast and accurate.
