A Research In Weak Ion Stream Detection

Micro channel plate (MCP) is a kind of electron multiplier detector which mainly used in low-light imaging and in research of the device lifetime; we need to develop equipment that can help measuring weak ion stream in vacuum. The preamplifier and main amplifier designed in this article, is co-operating with ion detector and multiple channel analyzers, help us to counting ions or measure ions stream.We use single channel electron multiplier (CEM) as ion detector, and make a deep research in its characteristic, and design low-noise charge-sensitive preamplifier and main amplifier based on its output characteristic. We talked about how does preamplifier be affected by its internal noise and surrounding environmental. Last, by using software to simulating and experiments to realization, the purpose of weak ion stream detection is reached by the ion detection scheme which mentioned in this paper.
