To ordinary people, diplomacy is mysterious and sacred, which represents the exchange between different nations. In traditional interpretation, diplomacy is a privilege enjoyed by the ruling class, which plays an irreplaceable part in coordinating the relationship between countries. Now, the diplomatic mode has been changed from the economic globalization development. Its foreign characteristics are more and more popular from a single narrow toward an open mode, and derived a new vocabulary (word)-public diplomacy. This vocabulary (word) has a wide range of interpretation with regards of the original foreign affairs. It is a pursuit of "harmony is golden" as the art of diplomacy. But for the study of public diplomacy, scholars have a tendency standing in the country and its government’s point of views. As a result, the studies focused on how to use public diplomacy to enhance country’s international image while there is very few studies about the role the peacekeeping policing is playing in public diplomacy. In recent years, China’s peacekeeping force frequently appeared in the United Nations peacekeeping operations, and its performance gained international community recognition. Behind all the excellent results achieved from the United Nation Peacekeeping operations, does it mean anything to the upgrading of our image internationally? What is the role of China’s overall diplomatic strategy? Based on this, in spite of the fact that there is not much theoretical support from the written essays, I hope the example of Chinese Police participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations in Haiti over the decade will be able to show, from the causes of action, process, characteristics and purpose and other aspects and to further discuss and analyze the revelation of China’s public diplomacy from the Chinese Police participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations. The aim of the thesis is to provide relative theoretical basis and reference under the current one superpower with multi strong nations world pattern by using peacekeeping police as a way to better safeguard China’s national interests, deploy China’s international public diplomacy strategy to optimize the country’s image, keep good relations with the rest of the world and to enlarge China’s right to speak on international issues, and last but not least to expand China’s national survival space.
