The elderly attendance, coming together with aging population, nowadays has become a prominent social problem due to the increasing aging population and care demand for the elderly. And in rural areas, the trend of aging and declining birthrate, the unsound social service system, the feminization of care work and other factors, lead women to become the main caregivers in rural family endowment support. Their physical and mental health is affected in the long-term heavy work of elderly attendance, housework and farm work. However, the welfare for rural female caregivers is not yet perfect. Therefore, it is an important and urgent task to build a welfare support policy for rural female family caregivers.This study selects a number of villages of F County in Northern Jiangsu as survey area and women family caregivers of the village as the research object. This survey covers caregivers of different age range, care roles and other characteristics. The data collected has higher reliability and validity after the SPSS statistical software analysis. The data of rural women family caregivers has certain representation.From the perspective of gender theory, this essay employs literature research, questionnaires and semi-structured interview to analyze of which factors in socio-demographic characteristics of rural female family caregiver and care-receiver affect attendance burden, risk, physical and mental health of the caregivers. Besides, it explores the predicament and welfare needs of rural female caregivers and discusses the future development direction of welfare support policy for rural women family caregivers in China on the basis of surveys and interviews.According to the study, caregiver burden, caregiver risk, physical and mental health of the rural women family caregiver were significantly affected by their age, economic status, time of daily care, housing arrangements, health status as well as the care-receivers’age, health status, et. Meanwhile, combined with gender theory and interviews, we found that caregivers facing greater care roles predicament, economic woes, family responsibilities predicament, time of care plight, care relationships and health predicament. With a lower resource utilization, current available care resources of caregivers are limited. The caregivers’welfare needs are large, however. On the basis of problems found and welfare support policies for foreign female caregivers, this study illustrates and explores the framework of social welfare support policy for rural female caregivers from policies, economic, cultural and social level, aiming at providing a comprehensive welfare system to support rural female caregivers.
