| From the geographical point of view, Thailand is located inhinterland areas of Indochina. Although now there is no directterritorial border between Thailand and China, but they havemaintained neighbor relations, and they have a history of friendlyexchanges since ancient times. After World War Ⅱand the Cold War,the Sino-Thailand’s relation has been strained, even if they occurredinterrupt. And since1975the formal establishment of diplomaticrelations between China and Thailand, they have developed by leapsand bounds in the fields of economic, political and cultural exchanges.In2012, China and Thailand formally established a comprehensivestrategic partnership for the future development of the relationsbetween the two countries to provide more opportunities. Faced withthe rapid development of Sino-Thailand relations, we not only need tounderstand the factors that promote the positive development of thetwo countries, but also need to recognize the negative factors thathinder. From the perspective of geopolitics, it help us to realize thegreat importance of long-term development of China and Thailandand led to the long-term and stable development of bilateral relations.From the view of existing research data concerned Sino-Thailandrelations, on the one hand, domestic scholars study focuses on thehistorical development of Sino-Thailand relations, despite there areinternational relations scholars engaged in the research, most of themwill study Sino-Thailand relations that mentioned in the research ofbetween China and ASEAN, few studies systematically focused on fChina and Thailand between the two countries. On the other hand,foreign scholars who study Sino-Thailand relations focusing on the areas of the economic, ecological environment, especially on theshare proportion of Chinese foreign trade in Thailand, and theecological impact of construction on the Mekong in Chinadownstream countries. In this paper, from the perspective ofgeopolitics, we will to realize development of bilateral relations, inorder to focus on China’s national interests in Thailand geopoliticalsignificance as the breakthrough point. Combing the history ofdevelopment of bilateral relations, we will analyze positive factorsand negative factors existing in the development of Sino-Thailandbilateral relations, offer meaningful Suggestions and opinions aboutthe future of the two countries.This paper is divided into five parts: Introduction part illustratesthe purpose and significance of the topic and the research status of thefield at home and abroad; The first chapter states the basic content ofgeopolitical theories and analyzes geostrategic value in Thailand; Thesecond chapter, on the historical perspective, it will comb thedevelopment history of Sino-Thailand relations in three stages ofhistory, modern and current; The third chapter by analyzing thecontent of the positive factors and the negative factors that influencerelations between China and Thailand, to recognize the actualcircumstances of the development of bilateral relations. The fourthchapter is about the question of how to promote the stabledevelopment relations between China and Thailand in the future, andit will provide thoughts to solve it. |
