| Chinese conjunctions, as an important part of Chinese function words, plays an important role in achieving a smooth interface between the sentences and making them a coherent unity.The great amount and complicated usages make Chinese conjunctions become one of the difficulties in teaching of Chinese as a second language.Most of the relevant researches on the acquisition of Chinese conjunctions for overseas students are just about error analysis, there is no comprehensive research about the acquisition of Chinese conjunctions for Thai students.So we focused on analyzing the acquisition of Chinese conjunctions for overseas Thai students, which is based on the language databases.We chose some specific conjunctions and analyzed overseas Thai students’ acquisition of these conjunctions.Firstly, we analyzed the error types and biased error factors of the conjunctions’ acquisition for overseas Thai students. Then, we determined the order that overseas Thai students acquire Chinese conjunctions.We investigated the set of conjunctions in syllabus and textbooks.Finally, we confirmed the difficulties of Chinese conjunctions’ acquisition for overseas Thai students and put forward some teaching suggestions on these difficulties.We analyzed the acquisition of Chinese conjunctions for overseas Thai students comprehensively, hoping to offer some help to learning and teaching of Chinese conjunctions.There are four conclusions:1.We summarized the error types,they are misuse,miss-adding,omission and miss-order.The main error type is misuse.2.Possible reasons that may cause the errors of misuse are due to the complex using rules of Chinese conjunctions and the negative effects of mother language.The errors of miss-adding are made through generalizing the use of conjunctions.The errors of omission and miss-order are mainly on account of the negative effects of mother language.Furthermore,teachers’ incomprehensive teaching of conjunctions’ using rules,without caring at comparing similar conjunctions also result in these errors.3.The acquisition order of Chinese conjunctions for overseas Thai students: gen,yinwei,suoyi,huozhe,erqie,danshi,keshi,buguo,suiran,ruguo >name,buguan,wulun,budan,bujin,jinguan,jiaru >he,yu,ji,yiji,yushi,yinci,jiran,bulun,zhiyao,zhiyou,haishi,b ingqie,raner,napa,jishi,buran,fouze,yaoshi >youyu,chufei,shenzhi,wanyi4.The difficulties of Chinese conjunctions acquisition for overseas Thai students: “yijiâ€and“ji†in coordinative conjunctions, “yushi†in successive conjunctions, “youyu†and“jiran†in causative conjunctions, “chufei†and“zhiyou†in conditional conjunctions, “haishi†in alternative conjunctions, “shenzhi†in progressive conjunctions, “raner†in adversative conjunctions, “jishi†in concessive conjunctions, “wanyi†in hypothetical conjunctions. |
