Experimental Design And Material Performance

As main characters of experimental design, exploration and expansion are reflected in the full understanding of the material properties and the creative use of the materials. Meanwhile, it is also reflected in the original design practice. Besides, it is ultimately reflected in the graduation design works. However, multiple material express methods is both a physical expression carrier of design thinking, but also a basic way to reflect experimental design. Therefore, eleven kinds of material expression methods, such as the real, simulation, texture, collage, skin, transparency, illusion, explicit and implicit, knitting, folding, concept, and so on, are summarized according to analyzing the design work of the graduation exhibition of the Design of Nanjing University of Arts in 2014. It reflects that the graduates of Design College mastered the basic design thinking and comprehensive application of technology, material properties through four years of undergraduate study. Then, it indicates the experimental, comprehensive and opening characteristics of the teaching method of the Design Institute of Nanjing University of Arts.
