| Lotus pattern is a one of the traditional plant patterns in our country. It has a long history and is the legacy of Chinese precious culture. Because of its inherent culture meaning, flexible construction pattern, gorgeous color and rich cultural connotation, it is one of the favorite things of artists. Lotus patterns are adopted in the many works of contemporary traditional Chinese realistic painting of flowers and birds. The painters portray and create new lotus pattern, emphasizing the distinct features of age, such as national character, decoration and personalization, on the concept and representation, which integrates with the temperament of appreciation of beauty of modern people. This phenomenon brings new angle of creation for contemporary Chinese realistic painting of flowers and birds of our country, and extends the expression language of Chinese realistic painting.The first part of this article introduces the notion and history of lotus pattern, and further discusses the approach to handle the lotus pattern by the contemporary painters of Chinese realistic painting of flowers and birds, which provides the foundation of our own work. The second part analyzes the usage of lotus pattern in practical application by our own experience in the Chinese realistic painting of flowers and birds. The problems and solutions encountered during the procedure of production are also presented in this part, which mainly encompasses the idea and the course of creation of the work of "Window", "Cixin qiu-yun", "Butterfly dance". The third part talks about our own experience, which analyzes and concludes the representation of lotus pattern and reflections of future work.The purpose of this article is to explore the characteristics and representations of lotus pattern, and analyze the works of other artists. Inspired by our own experience, we also discuss the future of the application of lotus pattern in the Chinese realistic painting and explore the new creation angle. |
