The Translation And Dissemination Of "Izu 's Dancing Girl" In China

Yasunari Kawabata was the first Japanese writer who had won the Noble Prize. He created many famous works during his fifty-eight-year writing career. The Dancing Girl of Izu was his masterwork in his early stage, which was very popular with the people from all over the world.There are many Chinese versions of The Dancing Girl of Izu, such as the versions of HanShiheng, YeWeiqu, Gao Huiqin, LiDechun and Lin Shaohua. And also, there are many Chinese versions that are translated together. Including the version of YeWeiqu and TangYuemei, the version of Liu Kexin and GaoHuiqin and so on.This paper mainly collects the Chinese versions and films of The Dancing Girl of Izu.Through comparing the similarities and differences between the versions of YeWeiqu, and the comparison of YeWeiqu’s and LinShaohua’s versions, to study the translation subject and translation audiences’ impacts on translation. The comparison, which is based on translation theories, society backgrounds and other factors, proceeding from many respects,including the translations of changed words and sentences, proper names and untranslatables as well as the translations of dialogues, action descriptions of characters. The paper also studies the influences of mistranslation and missing translations respectively. And at the same time, through analyzing the characters, scenes and plots, this paper compares the similarities and differences between the film version and the original work of The Dancing Girl of Izu for discussing the adaption which are from novels to movies’ influences on translation and dissemination. And this paper gets the conclusion that the adaption is beneficial to the dissemination of works.
