Due to the uniqueness of China’s natural geographical environment and the developmental experience of its profound history, the details implied in the deep diet culture of China has always been praised and commended throughout the world.As a kind of way to transmit image without borders, the TV documentary is regarded as one of the best choice to recommend and spread Chinese dietary culture. Although many TV documentaries are made almost every year which presented in different levels, only few scholars have made specific and comprehensive study for it.The purpose of this paper is to get a general summary after having discussion on these domestic TV documentaries of dietary culture. First of all, the main conceptions and classifications as well as its characteristics are all defined by making reference to amount of literature and information.Then, on the basic of a certain number of study samples, theories and content researches are combined tightly to emphasize the state on creation methods, narrative strategies, artistic values and humanistic connotations. Last but not least, it is indicated that domestic TV documentary of dietary culture should have been growing with precise and well-organized steps towards the right direction including commercialized operation and elaborate creation, through the comparison and analysis of this kind TV documentary at home and abroad,.
