Modal words are one of the important function words in Chinese and Uyghur language, since the 90s of the 19th century Chinese grammarians had started to describe and analysis the modal particles from the aspects of the word classification, significance and function.The modal particles in the sentence bear the important grammatical function, it can be said that whether it is in the oral expression or in the written expression, the word is an essential part of speech. Based on traditional description of grammar study, till now, the ancient Chinese and Uyghur scholars have already obtained a deeper understanding for the model words from the views of structural linguistics and functional linguistics. Compared to the part in Chinese, the meaning of the Uyghur Modal words enjoys greater diversity, which can add different types of tone for the entire sentence. There remains a further development and a great contrast value and progress space in the field of Comparative Study on Chinese and Uyghur grammar. This study is mainly based on the analysis of the bilingual corpus, and respectively studied the distribution, meaning and collocation. This paper mainly consists of the following six parts:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the paper writing background, research significance and research methods.The second Chapter is a summary of modal words study, respectively from the mood words in Uyghur language and Chinese.The third chapter is the distribution and its comparison part about Model words. In this chapter the author discussed the two types of Uyghur model words, and two types of Chinese model words.The fourth chapter is about the meaning and it’s usage of Chinese and Uyghur model words. This chapter discusses the usages of Chinese and Uyghur model words in different categories of modal particles were described, and summary and analysis of the modal meaning of Chinese words in Uyghur language corresponding expression.The fifth chapter is a study on collocation of the model words., the author summarize the situation of continuous and intermittent use of Chinese and Uyghur model words.and then compare the use of the model words in two languages.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.
