| As a prominent composer of the Neo-Romanticism, Richard Strauss, a well-known German composer. He influenced the romantic creation of symphony in the late nineteenth century. Further more, he is a great composer in the fields of Symphonic Poem and Programme Music. <F major sonata for Cello and Piano> is one of the few pieces of his cello music. He created this masterpiece when he was 17 years old, and his early music style was deeply influenced by Beethoven, Schumann, Wagner and Mendelssohn. In this piece, the piano part plays a vital role in the whole piece, and Richard Strauss uses a mass of lyrical melodies for cello and piano. In addition, there are several features of this piece. For instance, the phrase structure of this piece is flexible, and he emphasizes harmonic color and the echo which is between the cello part and piano part. More than anything, Richard Strauss performs the content of his cello sonata accurately by using the structure and form of this work reasonably. In a nutshell, I hope that classical music interest will spread in China, and more people want to know Richard Strauss and appreciate his works. |
