Translation in cross-language international business research: Beyond equivalence is a general pragmatic text with moderate professional and formal expressions, which focuses on the transmission of exact information. The source text is featured by abstract dictions, typical structural ambiguous sentences and overview sentences. Additionally, the layout with rigorous and distinct logic generally keeps in line with the writing norms of reports. According to the text analyses, the target text per se is completed with “faithfulness” as standard, “conciseness” as principle, and “cohesion theory” as guide; the practice report makes insights into the abstract nouns, structure-ambiguous and overview sentences respectively, and then summarizes the corresponding translation methods and techniques. Finally, the thesis shares some ideas on the contribution cohesion theory makes to translating and relevant inspiration for the richness of translation study.
