Within the development of "Mandarin Fever" all over the world, the number of Chinese language learners increases year by year. Chinese government has zealously established a lot of Confucius institutions and disseminated Chinese culture all over the world, which prompts the development of internationalization of Chinese more quickly in the world. "Chinese fever" is more and more popular, therefore, on the one had, we should continue to develop the academic system of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language, on the other hand, we should pay attention to the development of this field in Taiwan. In the field, teaching Chinese as a foreign language, Chinese vocabulary teaching is very important. Chinese vocabulary syllabus is the base of Chinese language teaching. For learners, learning Chinese words is very significant in every stage, especially for the beginners. Chinese Mainland and Taiwan both attaches great important to the development of disseminating Chinese language. Chinese mainland and Taiwan also regards the vocabulary teaching as the priority in the field.In Taiwan, Teaching Chinese as a foreign language was called as a different official name in Chinese. Since 1949, Taiwan Government has been supporting this field. The Taiwan’s ministry of Education has their independent policy on teaching Chinese as a foreign language. According to the research, the differences of the language between Chinese mainland and Taiwan less than 5%, so that it cannot make troubles in the daily communication. However, because of the diversity of the political view between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, the policies on the language are different. It is no doubt that such diversity would be reflected in the Chinese vocabulary syllabuses. Nowadays, the current teaching materials, which were published in Chinese mainland and Taiwan, do not deal with the language differences. Although, there were not too many language differences between Chinese mainland and Taiwan, the language differences will make troubles to the learners as well as the teachers.This paper based on the language of Chinese Mainland and Taiwan will discuss the differences of Chinese vocabulary syllabuses of the tests of Chinese as a foreign language between Chinese Mainland and Taiwan as well as the differences of vocabulary quantity of the tests through the description of words and table texts. Through the comparative study, the author will also discuss the advantages of each side, what we could learn from the vocabulary syllabuses published in Taiwan and the how to deal with the trouble made by the language differences.So far, there are not a lot of the research literatures for the Chinese vocabulary syllabus in Taiwan. Indeed, there is some research paper which discussed the differences of the Chinese vocabulary syllabus between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, but these parts were written as appendages in some other topics. This paper will provide a new scope of the research for the field. It also will be meaningful to the amendment of the syllabus and the mutual development of this field in China’mainland and Taiwan.
