The Tianchan stage is the most famous theater in Shanghai, and drama is one of the art forms which people is delighted to see and hear at that time,meanwhile,it is regarded as an important ideological and cultural communication channels.To remove residue of feudal ideas in cultural undertakings and to reconstruction of the mainstream ideology in the early years of the Republic of the Communist Party of China, the Tianchan stage took part in the ranks of the socialist transformation in this background. Then, a vigorous drama reform were carried out at the beginning of Shanghai cultural administration departments has taken over the cultural industry occupied by the nationalist Party and the bureaucratic capital.This paper selects the Tianchan stage as the research object, after sorting out the change and development of the Tianchan stage, I strive to summarize the achievements and the problems that existed in the Tianchan stage in the process of the socialist transformation from the three aspects of “restructuring”, “changing”,“opera reforming” to present the historical facts.This paper is divided into three parts: the first part mainly introduces the Tianchan stage’s development, characteristics, and illustrates the inevitability of socialist transformation.The second part is the core of this paper, which is mainly focus on“restructuring”,“changing”,“opera reforming” to elaborate on the Tianchan stage of socialist transformation process. The third part discusses the achievements and the problems of the Tianchan stage in the course of socialist transformation.Although the Tianchan stage achieved the victory of the socialist transformation, and established the system that meet the requirements of the cultural construction of New China, and made a contribution to the development of Chinese new culture.But there were still some problems in the process of transformation inevitably, for example, the deviation of the transformation in traditional repertoire, the socialist transformation in the Tianchan stage is success as a whole, it continues glorious in this day.
