The name of “Teaching C hinese as a Foreign Language” officially has been changed to “Chinese International Teaching” in 2013, as renamed the specialty construction of C hinese International Teaching has been gradually concerned by the academia. At the same year, this specialty was renamed as “C hinese International Teaching” in Yuxi Normal University. The research of regional specialty construction of C hinese International Teaching would promote talent cultivation, would improve the core competitiveness of C hinese International Teaching talents, and also would provide a certain reference of specialty construction and development.It used 4 kinds of research methods in this thesis. They were the document method, questionnaire method, interview method and inductive analysis method. First of all, it studied and refined the previous researches on domestic specialty construction of C hinese International Teaching. Then it surveyed the satisfaction of teachers and students on Chinese International Teaching specialty construction in Yuxi Normal University. It used the interview method to support and complement the results of the survey. Finally it summarized and analyzed and got the current existed problems that were: location of cultivation goal was inaccurate, cultivation mode was unclear, the faculty was week, the professional leader and top teacher was lacking, students level was not balanced, the teaching method was single, the practicality of current teaching material was low, fine course construction was lacking, practice condition was poor, employment and professional mismatch, etc. Based on the previous researching and analysis of existed problems, it proposed targeted suggestions and countermeasures on Chinese International Teaching specialty construction in Yuxi Normal University which were: set the cultivation position, clear the cultivation mode, improve the faculty training, train the professional leaders and top teachers, focus on students’ individual development, abundant the teaching methods, enhance the practicality of teaching material, build fine courses, improve the practice conditions, create employment opportunities, etc. At the meantime, it proposed the ideas and suggestions on cultivation, curriculum, teaching material construction and practice base of Chinese International Teaching specialty regionalization construction. By studying the case of C hinese International Teaching specialty regionalization construction in Yuxi Normal University, it put forward a general idea on C hinese International Teaching specialty regionalization construction of local colleges and universities in C hina.
