Buddhism Political Ethics In The Northern Song Dynasty

Confucianism as the mainstream of Chinese traditional culture, since it came, it contains rich of ethics, "governing by Morality" is the central principle of Confucian political ethics.as a foreign culture, Buddhism thoughts of leaving the world lead to weaken political ethic. With the rough development of Buddhism in China, Buddhists gradually aware of the close relationship between the development of Buddhism and the feudal rulers, began to absorb and draw lessons from the Confucian political ethics, political ethics rich in Buddhism realized the relationship between Buddhism and the ruling classes will be stability and harmony, it provides broader development space for Buddhism development in China.This paper is interdisciplinary study conducted between religion and applied ethics, for to clear up the thoughts of political ethics in the development of the Northern Song Dynasty Buddhist political ethics. This thesis is divided into three chapters to discuss the Northern Song Dynasty Buddhist political ethics.The first chapter of the article introduce the China Buddhist political ethics before Northern Song Dynasty in a few words, generally discusses the political ethics of Buddhism close to the Confucian political ethics based on six scholars views.The second chapter of the article mainly analyzes the adjustment of Buddhist political ethics in the Northern Song Dynasty, Through Zhiyuan, Qisong, and Zong Gao three monks ideology in Buddhist political ethics realize the system of the Northern Song Dynasty Buddhist political ethics.The third chapter of the article mainly discusses the influence of Buddhism on the later political ethics after the Northern Song Dynasty, scholar- officials are popular with The Zen and the rapid development of Chinese recluse Buddism prominently the importance of Buddhist political ethics development. Not only promote the harmonious development of Buddhism and politics, but also have a certain impact on the development of Confucianism.
