In 1990s, the sixth-generation film directors set their early movies in that transforming period of modern China and collectively incorporated rock elements in movies in various ways. As a result, the overall form of these films tend to be "rock" and present a unique form and style. I referred to these films as "the sixth-generation film directors’ rock elements works".On the basis of Derrida’s "deconstruction" theory, the study examines the texts of the sixth-generation film directors’ rock elements works to explore how the rock elements with rebellious temperament be combined into films by these directors to fight against traditional film concepts and deconstruct senior directors’ arts express means. The sixth-generation film directors find their way to achieve the goal of fighting against the film making tradition and promoting their own ideas by means of dispelling the hero image, overthrowing conventional narration, innovating audio-visual language and so on. Through the analysis of the sixth-generation film directors’ rock elements works in terms of both concept and form, the paper comes to the conclusion:the sixth-generation film directors began their breakthrough journey with rock deconstruction and created new film concept, narrative style, work style quite different from movie predecessors, which provides valuable experience to Chinese film creation.Artists’ early life experience and creative experience has a far-reaching impact on their whole life creation.
