What is ’xifang’ ? ’xifang’, another word for "Parody" in English, is derived from the Greek word Parodia, meaning satirical poem. Using parody art of other areas for reference, this paper considers parody photography as a photographic style of the original text creation and recreation, applying deconstruction, misappropriation, collage and other means to break the original text content, forms and the other stereotype elements by artists.This paper first dedicates to the historical origins carding of parody photography. This paper will explore parody photography in photography history respectively from "play" and "imitation" two clues and explain the birth of parody photograph from two different ways of Conceptual Photography and Pictorial Photography. As the first parody photography endowed with the meaning of political, as creators impose subjective idea on photography. Or as Cindy Sherman, Morimura Taechang and Mariel Clayton, photographers will break the classic statue of the viewers’eyes and guide them to re-examine the inherent image.Parody photography has had all kinds of connections with postmodern theory since it was birth, which makes the parody text produce new meaning in the deconstruction and criticism. Collage and extract this two postmodern text characteristics has been demonstrated in parody photography. The relationship between the text of original and now become the theme of research.Facing the cultural perspective, this paper will combine text and theory, focusing on the present dilemma facing the parody of photography. As far as the development of photography technology is concerned, more advanced tools but constitute a threat to this development of photography art in some degree. From the perspective of the parody, the inherent characteristics of parody have attracted a lot of controversy for photography.
