Giuseppe Verdi is widely regarded as one of the world’s outstanding opera composers in the early 18 th century to the 19 th century, and some of whose creations are definitely classic. Among his 26 operas, 24 operas appeared the role of baritone. Apparently, the baritone aria is the soul of his creations which puts independent artistic value in his works. Under the complicated social background at that time, Verdi is a famous opera composers who insisted on creating based on patriotism, so he has strong influence of dominating ideology on society, especially in the arts. High-level professional compositional techniques and advanced aesthetic makes his works becoming eternal classic. His operas highlighted the patriotism, heroism, and the spirit of dedication to depict a man’s masculinity, because of this, Verdi’s opera emerged a lot of excellent baritone aria. It is generally known that Verdi’s baritone aria not only classified the prerequisite of Music Competition and International Concert, but also the most important vocalization in music courses. These lyrical and melodic arias were striking so their infectivity is quite explosive force on the stage. It has a high artistic requirements for singers, at the mean time it also needs the singers has Profound cultural connotation. Considering a few points mentioned above, in this thesis, the author combined his accumulated performing experience with composer’s idea on opera, his life, creation background, the characteristics of Verdi’s opera and the characteristic of aria, to conduct in-depth research on some of the best examples of Verdi’s works including << Di Provenza il mar>>,<<Eri tu che macchiavi>>, and <<Per me giunto>>(According to the time line of opera creation).Verdi’s operas are valuable assets in the history of world opera aria, and these three works are the most representative ones in his life, which have irreplaceable research value. Through the research of this thesis, hoped to present a clear picture of baritone aria to offer useful help to readers.
